Union Jack : "Needs"

Le 21 mai prochain, La Horde, en collaboration avec Crash Disques, Arak Asso, General Strike et d’autres collectifs de contre-culture, organise une journée sur le thème "engagement et scène alternative". À cette occasion, des groupes de musique participeront au débat, et nous offriront un concert pour clôturer cette journée : nous vous proposons de les découvrir tout au long de la semaine. Après Rock N’Bones avant-hier, voici Union Jack aujourd’hui.

Le groupe

Furieux, à vif et percutant, Union Jack distille depuis 1997 ses influences punk, rock & roll, hardcore et ska, qui ont modelées et enrichies le son si particulier du trio, les rendant uniques et originaux. Résolument attachés à l’éthique DIY et aux valeurs d’entraide et d’amitié, le groupe a porté son message par l’intermédiaire de ses multiples productions au travers de nombreux concerts aux 4 coins de France, en Europe et au Canada. Attendez vous à un déluge d’énergie punk rock sur scène !

The snake’s biting its tail and shows no reaction
We are customers and therefore concerned.
We must think more responsibly

Tons of useless items, overproduction,
food bleached in the dustbins for no reason,
while people die in the streets from starvation,
the system goes on...

Take the stand respond for all your actions,
Wash these blooded hands and stop filling the garbage
We’d better understand before it’s too late
Consume the less we can and we’ll feel better then

Humankind can’t get so blind this will lead us all to destruction
Life is not buy, buy and die try to opt for a different option
Take a breath and feel alive feel alive, feel alive
Don’t need no ads to survive to survive, to survive

Set new rules and engage in action
Find a new balance, another direction
There’s not even time for hesitation
Change must be done with massive conviction
We’ve all got the choice yeah think it twice
or we’ll pay the invoice so become wise

The things that you think you need are superficial
They give you a feeling of joy that’s artificial
Consumption’s encouraged by the many commercials
We should all go for a quick return to the essential

Please beware of this needless production
Choose, don’t suffer, stop alienation
It depends on you and me we can go for sobriety
Or we’d be guilty of what we’ll see it’s our responsibility
Reduce consumption is the only solution
Useful frustration for this overfed nation
